This card comes from a card game published in 1913 called The National Game. The set of cards contains photos of many of the great players of that time. This card is an action shot of a player sliding with an umpire in the background. The player is not identified, though it is widely believed to be Ty Cobb. One of the few Ty Cobb's I can afford.

In addition to the Ty Cobb appearance, this card is unique because it is a game-action photograph. There are a couple other action photos in this card game, and they are some of the earliest examples of action photography on cards. The photo is surprisingly good. Check out the detail in the dirt spray.
