I remember getting this card at a garage sale. Actually, what I remember is getting my mom to get this card for me and my brother. Sharing a card is awkward. I believe it cost $5 at the time. It is probably $5 now.
The '61 design is very simple, especially compared to the 1960 design. Each team has there colors, so they look good in a group. The photo quality isn't very good. I had a '61 Roger Maris once (because that was the year he hit 61 homers) but I didn't end up liking the look of it in hand and ended up getting rid of it.
Drysdale was a great pitcher for the Dodgers in the 60s. He was a broadcaster for the Dodgers alongside of Vin Scully after his playing days. I knew he was big time because he used to be in commercials I saw as a kid. I want to say he advertised suits or for Rogers department store or something. I haven't been able to find out what it was via the internet.
