Exhibit Supply Co. made stiff cardboard photo cards of movie stars and sports figures. They were distributed through coin-op arcade machines. Baseball cards from Exhibit supply first appeared in 1921. They lasted until the '70s, making them the longest running baseball cards distributor until Topps passed them in recent years. They are also the only card manufacturer to span the golden age of baseball.

Pictured is a 1963 stat-back of Warren Spahn. You can see a bit of foxing on the surface, which is not uncommon. Most exhibits were blank-backs. To determine the exact year it was made takes a bit of detective work. The player and team narrows it down, but then the signature, and especially the "made" or "printed in the U.S.A." tells the full story... if you know the code. The stat-backs are easy to pin to a year because they include statistics from the season before.

Pictured below Spahn's stats are Orlando Cepeda and Nellie Fox '63s.
