1964 Auravision - Mickey Mantle

These Auravision "cards" are some of my favorites. They are 33 records that have an interview with the player recorded on them. A set of 8 was made in 1962 (and are more scarce), and a larger set of 16 was made in 1964. They were distributed through mail-in offers on Milk Duds, Yoo-Hoo, Meadow Gold, and other products. It also appears that a Las Vegas casino handed them out at some point. It is believed that a warehouse of undistributed Auravisions was discovered decades later and were packaged as complete sets. It is not uncommon to find unpunched Auravisions like the Mantle pictured here. The Willie Mays is the one record that is a somewhat of a challenge to find unpunched. Ten of the sixteen players in the 1964 set are in the Hall of Fame.
