In general, the 85 set had a high percentage of action shots (and good action shots). And almost all of the good players are pictured in action. And specifically, the Tigers of the 1985 set have a high percentage of very classy looking cards. For some reason, the Howard Johnson always stood out to me. The angle of his home run trot works well with the angle of the team name. As in many Tigers cards over the years (in the home uniforms), the cavernous Tiger Stadium provides a dark background. Sometimes the Tiger Stadium effect can make for an ominous looking card. In the 85s, because of the colors of the design, the dark background seems to help. Here Ho-Jo shines like an angel.

Here are four more that are near-perfect compositions - Johnny Grubb, Alan Trammell in the road uniforms, Lou Whitaker in mid-double-play jump (also in the roads), and Chet Lemon perfectly framed in the very beginnings of his swing.
