In 1992 Topps finally made an effort to keep up with the quality other card companies were putting out for several years. Here you can see the clean white card stock, crisp photography, easy to read and stylish multi-color back that is now the industry standard for base cards (high gloss and some foil stamping are added in in subsequent years). The '92 Topps design is fairly straightforward. I think it is a little too busy with all the frames. If you count up from the white border you cross thin black, space, thin black, white, thin black, blue thin black, shadow black, white, red, shadow black, white name, red, white, thin black, 15 lines before you get to the photo.

Here is a young Manny Ramirez. He was the 13th pick in the 1991 draft. check out those high school statistics.
